April 22, 2025 – San Diego, CA — In celebration of Earth Day 2025, Mutual of Omaha Mortgage’s San Diego corporate office teamed up with the Surfrider Foundation to host a local beach cleanup in Pacific Beach. Employees and their families came together on a sunny Saturday morning, armed with grabber tools and buckets, to help remove trash and debris along the shoreline—taking action to protect one of our most beautiful and vital natural resources.
This annual event reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, community involvement, and protecting the world we all share.
“We’re here on a beautiful, sunny Saturday here in San Diego,” said Mario Arevalo, Human Resources Director. “We have employees from around the county who came out and are able to get together, spend some quality time, as well as pick up some trash and take care of our community.”
The cleanup served as a powerful reminder of the impact individuals can make when they come together with a shared purpose.
“Whether you’re in the desert, at the beach, the plains or the mountains, we hope that today serves as a reminder of just how fortunate we are to be surrounded by such natural beauty,” added Erika Schroth, Human Resources Generalist. “Not just today, but throughout the year, we hope that you’re able to give back in your own meaningful way—whether that’s picking up trash, helping to reduce pollution, or simply appreciating the earth around us.
